Aromatherapy Courses - Beginner and Intermediate

Aromatherapy is the art and science of using aromatic essences (essential oils) from plants to balance and promote the health of body, mind and spirit.

In these informative and hands-on courses, we will look at many aspects of aromatherapy; what essential oils are and how they are extracted, safety aspects, how the oils can be used, the art of blending and which oils are suitable for common physical and emotional ailments.

Karina is a professional aromatherapist, trained at the Institute of Traditional Herbal Medicine and Aromatherapy in London, (and is also a yoga instructor) with a particular interest in the subtle aspects of aromatherapy and a desire to encourage others to bring more joy into their lives, using aroma, colour, sound and touch.

Aromatherapy and Massage for Facial Rejuvenation

Aromatherapy and massage can be used to great effect when it comes to facial skincare. In this highly practical workshop, you will learn how the skin renewal process works, and the best essential and carrier oils to use for your skin type.

Armed with this knowledge, you will make your own customised bottle of facial oil, and then learn a massage routine (working with a partner, or on yourself), which, when, practised on a regular basis, should lead to a fresher and more glowing complexion. The workshop will end with some ‘facial yoga’ stretches and a relaxing guided meditation.

Spirtitual Aromatherapy

Aromatherapy is the art and science of using aromatic essences from plants to balance and promote the health of body, mind and spirit. ‘Subtle aromatherapy ‘utilises essential oils specifically to affect the subtle body, psyche and soul. We look to harness the vibrational or energetic qualities of the oils, rather than their physical properties.

In this very hands on workshop, we will look at some of the most commonly used essential oils in this field, such as Frankincense and Rose, and we will be practising some basic techniques including massage, aura work and visualisation. We will also look briefly at how subtle aromatherapy can be beautifully combined with flower remedies, crystals and meditation.
