Kid’s Clutter Busters - My favorite products to organize kids’ rooms

Kids need structured places to keep their items. If everything has a dedicated, assigned place, they will be more likely to put things back when they are finished playing with them. Here are my favorite products to help keep kids organized that will grow with them and help keep them organized through high school and beyond.

Stuffed Animal Storage

This plushie hammock keeps stuffed animals off the floor and makes use of vertical space in corners.

These stackable cabinets open from the top, front, and sides and are perfect for storing plushies, books, toys, and extra clothing. They come in fun colors and have clear doors so your little ones can easily see what’s inside. You can even get them on wheels for even more versatility.

Storage Beds and Underbed Bins

I am a huge fan of storage beds for kids. Whether it’s a bookcase built into the headboard or drawers under the bed, the extra storage is always crucial for kid’s rooms.

I love this bed so much. It tucks into a corner and gives your kid plenty of storage space along both walls, plus drawers underneath. My organizing heart skips a beat when I see this!

Here is a simpler storage bed with a storage headboard and drawers underneath.

If a new bed isn’t in the budget, invest in some underbed storage bins like these from Sterilite, or these clear zipper bins on wheels.

You can add drawers to an existing bed with rollout underbed drawers from Wayfair. Pro tip: they work great under cribs too!

These underbed toy carts work great for extra blankets, diapers, and toys.

Storage Benches

If your kid’s room needs some extra seating, try one of these storage benches. I prefer the kind that have openings in the front because they are more accessible to little ones and the closed-door storage keeps visual clutter to a minimum. Here are some I recommend:

Arts and Crafts Storage

If your child’s room doubles as the arts and crafts area, try these solutions for storing markers, crayons, pencils, and activity books.

If you have a lot of coloring books and activity books, this cart is perfect because it allows your child to store books vertically so they can easily see what they have.

This utility cart has built-in organizers for markers and pencils and can also be used to store toys and games.

How wonderful is this rolling arts and crafts organizer? The large clear pockets make your child’s crafting materials easily visible and accessible.

Activity books will be much more accessible if they are stored so they covers are visible. This wall-mounted magazine rack is crystal clear and can be mounted at your child’s level so their favorite coloring books are right at eye-level, visible, and easy to reach. Here is a slightly more budget-friendly option.

Displaying Artwork

I’ve yet to meet a parent who didn’t struggle with displaying their children’s artwork and awards. Here are some solutions that will make your child feel proud and save your walls!

Poster putty is a great way to allow your child to hang artwork on the wall without causing damage.

Magnet strips let your children play with fun magnets, and as they grow older, it’s an easy way to display favorite photos, cards, and posters

This wire art display solution functions like a clothesline for artwork! Use the clamps to hang your child’s awards, drawings, and report cards.

If you want to have your child’s artwork framed, try these hinged artwork frames. The artwork slides under the elastic bands and the frame closes like a cabinet door giving you a clean, finished look.

These fabric memory boards use elastic straps to secure photos and mementos. This is a great thumbtack-free bulletin board solution. They come in many colors (that are unfortunately all listed separately on amazon). They are relatively small, so try using them like tiles to create a display in your child’s room.

I hope these products are helpful to you, and I hope your little ones enjoy organizing their spaces. I believe these products and methods will help your children develop their organizing skills so they can be organized as adults.

As always, be calm, be organized, be you!
